Vidar finished the thesis about Zoomable 3D User Interfaces at the end of last year and is currently working with automatic 3D optimizations in Linköping. The previous plans for Cactus Cowboy have been put on hold after the decision to use Android (OpenGL ES) as target platform. The C++ version will, in near future, be directly ported to run on Android including all existing features. There are also plans on writing a completely new 3D engine for an RPG version of the game.

JoltMan alpha version 1.0a released

The game has been updated to give a better resultion of this site as well as some small changes about death and win and startscreen. Link.

JoltMan pre alpha 2.01b released

Tomas has taken a Flash CS4 course at Informator and decided to try something he learned there and created this game. The projekt started as a PacMan clone and turned into something else.Link.

Flash Version of Breakout clone updated to version 1.5 special edition

Tomas took the upspeeded version from company and removed all company scorm parts. If you want the scorm version email bragesjo@hotmail.com. A major change from 1.0 version is that this version has also a limited life time. Link.

In the future some additional Flash games will be released, first a PacMan clone called JoltMan in order to learn more in preparation for more advanced projecs like a Giana sisters clone or a Flash Bubble Bobble clone. Tomas is however busy at work and has not that much spare time either so it may take some time to learn some of the neccesary Flash skills that are requered for a more advanced game project.

Vidar is currently doing a 30 credit points master thesis in computer graphics and interaction area. On his spare time he is working on a BreakOut Clone in Java Netbeans. A demo of the game can be tested here (note: this application is still in development and may contain bugs).

Flash Version of BreakOut clone 1.0 released

Tomas employeer wants him to learn Flash ActionScript 3.0 and after reading some books he created an Breakout clone.

Version 1.5 has been further speeded up, also adding scores but it requires a Learning Managment System (LMS) to work since it uses SCORM interface to communicate with a database so it is not available here. The 1.5 version is used in the most recect build of CleverLMS, a LMS that Tomas develops at the company. Click here to try version 1.0 of BreakOut.

Snake

C# Snake version 1.0 released

This Snake game is quite similar to the ordinary Snake i.e. eat food for points and the snake grows, also avoid obstacles and the snake itself. Some differences is that the food are numbers that counts up after some time and when eating them the snake will grow as much as the number shows.

Vidar is working on developing a java applet version of Cactus Cowboy using Netbeans IDE. Click here to see the prototype. The network version of the original Cactus Cowboy is currently on hold due to studies.

Tomas has left the University and is now working fulltime as a ASP C# programmer for Clever Learning AB. Tomas design for the Giana clone as well as the images are completed but no code has been written. Tomas is also experimenting with Allegro to release a new game that is a cross between Space Invaders and Breakout. The purpose of that game is to evaluate if Allegro or SOOGL will be used as game library for the Giana Sisters Clone. Our profiles will be updated soon to match out exact University credit points.

Right now we are looking what to do next since we are both busy on our academic studies. Vidar is looking for ways to create a multiplayer (network) version of Cactus Cowboy. Tomas is planning to create a Giana Sisters clone.

This is a small platform game where to get points from killing enemies and collect coins. You can kill an enemy by jumping on his head or by shooting him. You can also destroy blocks to gain access to areas with more gold or pass enemies in hard situations.
